St. Johns PAL Lacrosse player Brooke Reed starts off the 2016 season with a hat trick against Creeks

St. Johns County Police Athletic League (PAL) Starz lacrosse player Brooke Reed (#11) started the 2016 season with 3 goals on Sunday (2/28) against the Creeks (Bishop) lacrosse team.  Playing mid-field for the Silver Starz Middle School travel team, Brooke dominated on the field to include the 3 goals scored, scoring several ground balls and winning draws (face-off) the majority of the time.  Despite Brooke and her Starz teammates efforts and great play, the Creeks team finished the game with a 7-4 win.

Brooke shines on offense as the St. Johns PAL Lady Stars win the Battle at the Beach

On Saturday and Sunday (May 2nd & 3rd) the St. Johns PAL Lady Starz, middle school lacrosse teams participated in the 2015 Battle at the Beach tournament at Davis Park in Ponte Vedra, FL.  Participating in the event were teams from St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra, Creeks, and the Pipeline 210 clubs.  Playing for the PAL Lady Starz Green team, in the Black division, Brooke played the center mid-field position taking most of the teams face-off’s.  Brooke Reed #11, played the draws well helping her team to easily win a majority of the face-off’s during their tournament games.  During Brooke’s offensive play over 5 games, she had several assists to her teammates, helped earn and maintain team possessions with controlling ground balls, and scored a total of 11 goals.

The highlight of the five game tournament for Brooke came while playing against the Ponte Vedra Makos in the Championship game for their division.  Trailing 5-6, Starz Middle Natalie L. scored the tying goal with 20 seconds left in regulation to tie the game 6-6 and sent it into sudden death overtime play.  About one minute into the overtime, Natalie, from the wing position, passed the ball to Brooke who had cut to the top of the crease in front of the goal.  In one quick move, Brooke made the catch and fired the ball into the left of the goal to win the Championship game 7-6 and improve the Lady Starz Green tournament record to 4-1.  Brooke scored a total of 3 goals in the game.  Game opponents with results as follow:

  1. Pipeline 210           7-5 win, 2 goals
  2. PV Hammerheads    4-8 loss
  3. Creeks Wildcats      7-2 win, 2 goals
  4. Creeks Rush           7-2 win, 4 goals

Brooke Reed and her PAL Lady Stars finish second place in the annual Heat Wave Lacrosse Tournament

Last weekend, Brooke Reed and her PAL Lady Stars (green team) participated in the 2014 Heat Wave Lacrosse Tournament in Flagler Beach, Florida.  This annual event is the State of Florida’s premier 7 versus 7 lacrosse tournament for Middle School and High School aged girls.  The PAL Lady Stars (green team) participated with 11 other teams in the Gator Division.  They played two games Friday evening (July 11th), returning to play an additional two preliminary, placement games on Saturday morning, where they improved to 4 – 0 going into the playoffs on Saturday afternoon.  Brooke had an astonishing 22 goals in the first 4 placement games to lead her team in scoring:

  • Game 1: 19 – 4 win vs Palm Coast Wave (Brooke 8 goals)
  • Game 2: 12 – 9 win vs LaxManiax Ballers (Brooke 3 goals)
  • Game 3: 18 – 5 win vs Stickbenders White (Brooke 7 goals)
  • Game 4: 12 – 8 win vs LaxManiax Aces (Brooke 4 goals)

During the three playoff rounds, the PAL Lady Stars (green team) performed well during the quarter and semi-final games, only to be outscored in the final Championship Game to finish 6 – 1 and take second place for the tournament.  The playoff results are as follows:

  • Quarter-finals: 10 – 4 win vs Orange Crush (Brooke 3 goals)
  • Semi-finals: 9 – 7 win (Brooke 1 goal)
  • Finals: 11- 15 loss vs LaxManiax Young Guns (Brooke 1 goal)

Brooke Reed completed the fast paced 7 on 7 Heat Wave Lacrosse Tournament with a total of 27 goals and established herself as a key player to the tournament along with her teammates.  This was also Brooke’s last lacrosse tournament for the 2014 Summer season.  Look for more news in the coming weeks on the next sporting events for Brooke Reed Sports.

Girls Lacrosse player Brooke Reed, #11, finishes off the 2014 season with a big win:

On Saturday, May 17th, girls lacrosse player Brooke Reed, #11, played the final game of the 2014 regular season for the St. Johns Police Athletic League (PAL) Lady Stars season in a game held in the stadium of Pedro Menendez High School in St. Augustine.  The game was featured as the show-case, season ending game for the Lady Stars for 2014.

During the game, Brooke’s Lady Stars White team got on the scoreboard early to go up 1 – 0.   The Lady Stars Green came back to tie the game and continue to play the first half close.  The game ended with Brooke and her Lady Stars teammates convincingly winning 9 – 6.  During the game Brooke scored 4 goals playing as Mid-fielder.  The 4 goals increased her season total to 43 goals, placing her as the league leader in goals scored for 2014.  In addition to her scoring, Brooke passed out many scoring assists and gained possession on many ground-balls during the season.  This has definitely been an amazing year for Brooke, who as a 6th grader has earned so much succeeded in a league with 6th, 7th and 8th graders.

Another great week for girls Lacrosse player Brooke Reed, #11, and her PAL Lady Stars team

Last week featured two tournament games for girls lacrosse player Brooke Reed, #11, and her PAL Lady Stars teammates as they faced the Creeks Heat on Tuesday evening and played a three mini-game tournament on Saturday morning.  Playing their cross-county rivals The Creeks Heat tournament lacrosse team on Tuesday, Brooke managed to score 4 goals and passed out several assists in a one-sided game that resulted in a 14 – 8 loss for the Lady Stars.  Brooke was able to score two late goals to help keep the game close, but the Heat managed to answer back with quick goals of their own to maintain the lead and secure a win.

On Saturday, Brooke played in a best two-out-of-three, mini-game tournament with her PAL Lady Stars teammates.  The tournament was dominated by Brooke’s Stars team as they won the first two games decisively to win the tournament for the day.  The third game served as an exhibition match and gave the girls some additional time on the field to work together before the Summer tournaments begin.  In the three games, Brooke scored 3 goals (game 1), 5 goals (game 2) and 2 goals (game 3), including the game winner.  In addition, Brooke had many ground ball possessions and passed out several assists.  The 14 goals this past week scored by Brooke raises her season total to 39 goals in 8 games/matches.

Brooke Reed, #11, continues a strong lacrosse season for the St. Johns PAL Lady Stars

We are catching up on the Blog for Brooke Reed Sports and the 2014 Lacrosse season with the St. Johns County Police Athletic League Lady Stars.  Over the past two weeks, Brooke and the Lady Stars have been playing a tournament style 7 on 7 lacrosse tournament each Saturday.  The games last for three 14 minute periods, best two out of three wins.  This past weekend, Brooke played the mid-field and attack positions, with some minutes rotating as defender.  During the three 14 minute games, Brooke was able to score a total of 10 goals on the day and come up with several ground balls and assists for goals.  However, it was not enough as the competing team broke a tie and scored with three seconds left in the third game to win 8 – 7.

Brooke has now scored a total of 25 goals in 6 games this season.  Brooke and the Lady Stars take on their cross county, and State tournament rivals the U-13, Creeks Swerve lacrosse team on Tuesday, May 6th.  The video featured shows Brooke scoring on one of her 10 goals during the Saturday (May 3rd) tournament.

Brooke Reed, #11, scores the final overtime goal for a big lacrosse win…

This past Saturday, April 12th, Brooke Reed, girls lacrosse player #11, scored the final game winning goal in sudden death, Brave Heart overtime for the St. Johns County PAL Lady Stars, Senior Division team.  After playing most of the game at the defensive position, Brooke was selected by her teammates to be one of the four girls to play the Brave Heart style overtime period.  After one minute and a half into the overtime period, Brooke received a pass and moved in to fake out the defender and goalie for an open shot and the game winning goal.  The goal is Brooke’s 8th goal of the season, scoring 4 goals in her first game and three in the second as a regular mid-field player.  The Lady Stars White team defeated their opponents in the game by a final of 7 – 6 as Brooke received player of the game honors.

Brooke Reed, #11, opens the 2014 Lacrosse season scoring 4 goals and helping her team to a big win.

This past Monday evening (March 31st) kicked off the 2014 regular season for the St. Johns Count Police Athletic League Lady Stars Lacrosse League.  Playing for the senior girls, Brooke, #11, played her regular position as mid-fielder (middie) during the game.  The game started off as a close match and continue most of the game that way for each team which traded goals back and forth.  Brooke scored her first goal early in the first half and added one more a few minutes later.  Scoring two more goals in the second half, Brooke finished high scorer for her team making a total of 4 goals during the game and helped her team to an 11 – 9 win.  In addition to scoring 4 goals, Brooke recorded several ground balls that resulted in turnovers for the other team and continued possessions for hers.

Great Spring 2013 LAX Season!

Brooke finished her Spring 2013 Lacrosse season strong! She dominated on goals and ground balls and won the elite end of season “Sportsmanship Award”. She participated in both the Junior girls division as well as the Senior girls division all season. She is headed to the Sunshine State Games to compete in the U13 league with some of the best players in the state of Florida. Below are her stats for the season:
